DELIGHTED to tell you that Christine Harcus – aka my mother – has her first solo exhibition opening tomorrow at Sheila Fleet’s gallery, Bridge Street, Kirkwall. It runs from tomorrow right through till the end of July. Enjoy the beautiful Original paintings by this talented woman.

For those of you who don’t know already I illustrate the safety article for the bi-monthly publication ‘Orkney Farmer’ Magazine. It’s just £1.50 available nationwide. Sorry parish wide 😉

As I said yesterday no two jobs are ever the same. I love being an illustrator for that very reason. You have to find quick and effective solutions to every brief.  ‘Cats on mopeds’ was completed for a feline lover last month.

I look forward to sharing this book with you very soon…

Today I came across a peedie photo frame I got from my granny ‘Ma’.

On the back it reads ‘Woolworths first day open, 23rd April 1959’.

Sure that would have been an exciting day in Kirkwall…

It’s been a year since I began my blog – my NOT daily, but every couple of days blog that is – I hope to keep it up as long as you keep following me. Today I’m nestled back into my chair in the studio working on my latest order. HAPPY DAYS once more.
