After her studies at the National College of Art & Design, Dublin, Britt returned to Orkney to continue her artistic career. Britt’s inspiration comes from spending time outdoors and amongst friends and family. Britt’s quirky sense of humour and love for rural life is a strong feature of her work.

Britt is the creator of ‘Made Up Muck?’ This was her first children’s book, aiming to teach children about life on the farm. It was first published in 2005 by the Orcadian Ltd and is available to buy on-line at www.orcadian.co.uk/bookshop/agriculture as well as being available to buy in NE region.

With Britt's business collegue Kirsteen Stewart, the pair trade under the name of 'The Muddy Funksters'. They regularly teach creative classes for young and young at heart.  Visit www.spanglefish.com/muddyfunksters for more info. Recent kids classes include ‘Create A Character’ puppet workshop and ‘Build your own robot’’. Adult’s classes include ‘Improve your drawing skills’ and ‘embroidery for cards’. Britt & Kirsteen ran a ‘Scottish Design Showcase & Gift Shop’ during November & December 2006 at ‘Pat’s’, Albert Street, Kirkwall, Orkney. The pair successfully displayed & sold the work of some of Scotland’s newest and most talented artists, designers and makers.
